Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai Jayanti Celebration

The celebration of the 143rd birth anniversary of Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai, held on March 23, 2026, marked the first programme in the newly inaugurated auditorium of our institution.

The programme began with the college prayer and institutional anthem, followed by floral tributes to the great poet. Mrs. Suchitra P. Shetty, Head, Department of Kannada, highlighted the immense contributions of Govinda Pai to Kannada literature, culture, and human values.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Ashalatha, Kannada, Guest Lecturer, University College, Mangaluru, emphasized the relevance of his literary works in shaping values and inspiring the younger generation. Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, Principal, SCS First Grade College, and Mr. U. K. Khalid Administrative Officer, of SCS Group of Institutions, addressed the gathering, encouraging students to uphold cultural values and draw inspiration from great personalities.

The event also featured a group rendition of “Thaye Baara Mogava Thore”, adding a cultural touch to the celebration. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking a meaningful tribute to the legendary poet.
