SCS First Grade College organized a Students Orientation Programme, known as “Aarambhotsava,” on 01-09-2023 for the academic year 2023-24. The event took place at the SCS College Campus and was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Prof. P. L. Dharma, Chairman of the Department of Political Science at Mangalore University, who inaugurated the day.
The event was attended by key figures from SCS Group of Institutions, including Dr. Abhinay Sorake, the Secretary of SCS Group of Institutes, and Mr. U. K Khalid, the Administrative Officer of SCS Group of Institutions. Dr. K. Balakrishna Bharadwaj, Principal of SCS First Grade College, and Dr. D. Shripathy Rao, Principal of SCS PU College, also played important roles. Mrs. Vinaya D’Souza, the Principal of SCS Pre-School, along with faculty members, parents, and students, were present at the program.
The orientation program commenced with a prayer, beautifully sung by Sushma of II B.Com. The Principal of SCS First Grade College welcomed the new students and wished them a successful and enjoyable academic year. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp.
Prof. P.L. Dharma, the Inaugurator, shared valuable insights with the students. He spoke about moral values, the importance of education, and choosing a career path. He encouraged the students to utilize the college’s resources and excel in their studies.
Mr. Madhava K, the Student Welfare Officer, discussed the college’s vision, mission, and the rules and regulations that students should follow.
Dr. Abhinay Sorake, the Secretary of SCS Group, offered encouragement to the students and promised additional facilities to support their development.
Dr. D. Shripathy Rao, the Principal of SCS PU College, emphasized the significance of quality education and blessed the students.
Mr. U. K Khalid delivered the presidential address, shedding light on the history and values of the college.
The program was skillfully conducted by Ms. Sweatha, who served as the Master of Ceremony. Mrs. Suchitra from the Department of Kannada delivered the vote of thanks.
The Students Orientation Programme helped new students feel more comfortable in the college environment and set a positive tone for their academic journey. Before the program, breakfast was provided to all attendees.
