Educational cum Awareness Programme on Provisions Related to The Child Labor and Adolescent Labor (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 and its Ammendment Act, 2016; Human Trafficking and Ill-effects of Substance Abuse

Our Institution, through the Human Rights Cell, Anti-Trafficking Club, and Anti-Drug Cell, in association with the District Legal Services Authority, District Administration, Labour Department, District Child Labour Project Society, Police Department, and Child Helpline, Dakshina Kannada, conducted an impactful Awareness Programme on Child Labour & Adolescent Labour Act (1986 & 2016 Amendments), Human Trafficking, and the Ill-Effects of Substance Abuse on November 24, 2025, at the Open Auditorium, Block–A, Riverside Campus.

The programme inauguration was carried out by Mrs. Jaibunnisa, Hon. Senior Civil Judge & Member Secretary, DLSA, Dakshina Kannada, and the Chief Guest was Ms. Nazeeya Sulthana, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Mangaluru Division. presided over by Mr. U. K. Khalid, Administrative Officer, SCS Group of Institutions, with the Welcome Address by Principal Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan.

Key sessions were led by:
• Mr. Guruvappa Kanti, Sub-Inspector, Urwa Police Station – Ill-Effects of Substance Abuse
• Mr. Kumar B. R., Labour Officer, DK Subdivision – Child Labour & Adolescent Labour Act
• Mr. Kumar Shettigar, Child Protection Officer, DCPU – Child Rights & Adoption Regulations

The initiative received additional support from Mr. Shrinivas and Mr. Rajashekhara Reddy. More than 200 students benefited from this valuable awareness programme.

The event was hosted by Mrs. Varsha Rai, and the Vote of Thanks was presented by Mr. Sudip Rai, President, Student Council. Organized by the Anti-Drug Cell, Human Rights Cell, and Anti-Trafficking Club, SCSFGC.
